 Beverly J. Cole, 66, died on Friday, Aug.14, 2020 at her residence in Lima.       

She was born on Sept. 29, 1953, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Gaylord A. and France B. (Nichols) Cole.

Beverly was a naturalist, and volunteer at Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park, Lima. She earned four Bachelor’s Degrees, two from Ohio State University and two from Bowling Green State University and a Master’s Degree from APUS. 

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Gayle and John Heston of Sandusky; and a nephew, Christopher Heston of Melbourne, Fla.

Beverly was preceded in death by her two sisters: Dianna Cole and Grace Cole.

BVHS virtual presentation Aug. 18

Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) will host “Your Respiratory Health During COVID-19 & Beyond,” a part of the 2020 virtual “Live and Learn” Facebook Live series. 

Dr. Rafid Fadul, a physician with Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine and Dr. Bill Kose, vice president of special projects, will co-host a livestream discussion regarding the effects and treatment options for COVID-19 and other serious respiratory conditions. 

It's raining, it's pouring,,,and it looks like fun. The Ada Municipal Pool water park is popular this week as temperatures soar. The pool's last day of operation is Aug 22.

The project in its entirety is expected to be completed in late October

The remaining closed, reconstructed ramps at the U.S. 68/State Route 15 interchange with Interstate 75 will open this weekend, marking the last, significant structures to be completed on a historic project in Findlay and Hancock County. 

"This project is a significant part of our efforts to modernize and reconstruct the I-75 corridor in northwest Ohio. Since 2012, we have invested $1.1 billion into nearly 55 miles of I-75 from the Ohio and Michigan border to Lima," said Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Director Jack Marchbanks, who was in Findlay to mark the occasion.

Ohio Athletic Conference releases sport schedules; football games on Friday nights in March and April

The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced the schedules for football, volleyball and men's and women's soccer for the 2021 spring seasons.

All sports will begin competition on the weekend of March 12, 2021, and will conclude on the weekend of April 16 with championships games in all sports.

The four schedules feature conference-only competition and remain under the NCAA's 50 percent waiver rule so that all student-athletes will not use a season of competition.

Football
Football will be split into East and West divisions and will play a 4-game round-robin schedule against divisional foes on Friday nights, beginning on March 12.
