Sophomore Ryan Bruns(Chickasaw/Marion Local) scored a career-high 29 points to lead the Ohio Northern men's basketball team in a tough 72-71 loss to Baldwin Wallace in the quarterfinals of the 2017 Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament on Tuesday night at the ONU Sports Center.
The third-seeded Polar Bears end their season with a 16-10 record, while the sixth-seeded Yellow Jackets improve to 14-12 and will host seventh-seeded Muskingum in the semifinals on Thursday.
Bruns had 29 and senior Aron Thress(Lancaster/Amanda Clearcreek) had 12 points to lead ONU.
Freshman Cameron Marous(Brecksville) registered a hat trick in his first collegiate game, leading the Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team in a season-opening 15-7 loss at Kenyon on Tuesday.
Northern got off to a slow start and trailed 8-0 early in the second quarter, but played the final 43 minutes to a 7-7 draw.
Sophomore Noah St. Croix (Rochester, N.Y./Irondequoit) had a goal and two assists and sophomore Anthony Pavone(Chagrin Falls/Kenston) had a goal and an assist for ONU.
Sophomores Nicholas Groves (Fishers, Ind./Chatard) and Max Weese (Columbus/Hilliard Darby) also scored goals for the Polar Bears.
Dolores M. Stoodt, age 80, died Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 8:20am at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton, Ohio.
She was born on July 20, 1936 in LaFayette, Ohio to John Wesley and Thelma (Kidd) Stoodt. They preceded her in death.
Dolores retired from First Federal Savings and Loan of Lima where she worked as a teller. She then was the secretary for the West Central Ohio Kidney Foundation. She was a member of the Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church, LaFayette and a 1954 graduate of LaFayette Jackson High School.
Surviving is a sister-in-law, Charlotte Stoodt of LaFayette, Ohio and numerous cousins.

2016 was a very busy year with the construction and grand opening of our fifth branch in Upper Sandusky. We updated Quest’s mobile and web banking services, agricultural and consumer loans grew by 8.50% and our membership surpassed 13,000.
Quest finished the year with a bottom line Return On Assets of 0.76%, delinquency at 0.99% and assets of $104 million.
We are projecting 8.50% loan growth, 9.00% deposit growth and overall balance sheet growth that will take our assets to $112 million for year-end 2017.
Elizabeth Tremains, ONU student, designed this poster for The Urban Forest Project. The senior graphic design major from Rushsylvania, is one of two students from Ohio Northern to be nominated for the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Ohio’s Award for Excellence in the Visual Arts.
