Hardin County Relay for Life July 24-25
Hundreds of Hardin County residents will participate in the Cancer Society Relay For Life of Hardin County from 6 p.m.-12 p.m. July 24-25 at the Hardin County Fairgrounds. This will be the 10th anniversary of the Relay For Life of Hardin County.
The American Cancer Society has been partnered with Not By Choice in downtown Kenton for several years to help local cancer patients. Through Not By Choice, local cancer patients can utilize American Cancer Society programs and services. With the help of donations from events like Relay For Life, the American Cancer Society is able to provide free wigs to patients, which can be found at Not By Choice. Two local cosmetologists facilitate the Look Good Feel Better session which is held at Not By Choice.
Like all of the American Cancer Society’s programs and services, Look Good Feel Better is a free program that women currently going through chemo and radiation can attend to receive tips on how to deal with the appearance related side effects of cancer treatment. Women who take advantage of this great program receive a make-up kit valued at over $200. Look Good Feel Better sessions are held periodically at Not By Choice. Contact Not By Choice, or call 800.227.2345 24 hours a day for the next session.
In addition to the support of the community, Relay For Life of Hardin County is also supported by many businesses and organizations. The event’s 2015 sponsors include: Advanced Dental Care, Beacon Realty, Big Wilk’s Motor Sales, Buckeye Machine Fab, Inc, Community First Bank, Edward Jones – Kyle Johnston, Hardin County Agricultural Society, Hardin Memorial Hospital, Hardin Motors, Home Savings & Loan Company, International Paper, Kroger, Liberty National Bank, Lima Memorial Health System, Lulu’s Pack Rat, Maxline Express, McCullough Industries, Morton Buildings, O’Connell Law Office, Oates Veterinary Clinic, OhioHealth, Precision Strip, Quest Federal Credit Union, Robinson Fin Machines, Rogers Insurance Agency, Root Lumber, Schindewolf-Stout-Crates Funeral Home, Shaffer’s Auto Body, Superior Federal Credit Union, Tice Construction, Trillium Farm Holdings, Triumph Thermal Systems, Twirl, Wilson Tire Company, and Yazar Dentistry.
