We The Kings to headline Ohio Northern University’s Tunes on the Tundra
Ohio Northern University’s Tunes on the Tundra will feature We The Kings, with PUBLIC as the opening act, in the ONU Field House on Friday, Sept. 4, at 7:30 p.m. The event is sponsored by the ONU Student Senate.
“As leaders of the campus, we believe events like this are crucial to keeping students excited and proud of their campus,” said Gina Grandillo, president of the ONU Student Senate.
Tunes on the Tundra is an event that alumni and friends speak very highly of. It had a sense of tradition that branded our campus and gave everyone something to look forward to. We want to bring Tunes back while adding a little twist to make it our own. We are very excited to have a campus-wide event in which everyone can get together and have a little fun to bring in the start of the semester.”
We The Kings, out off Bradenton, Fla., released their self-titled debut album in 2007; it included the platinum single “Check Yes Juliet” and went on to sell more than 250,000 copies in the U.S. The group’s second album, “Smile Kid,” was released in 2009 and included the Top 40 singles “Heaven Can Wait” and “We’ll Be a Dream” (featuring Demi Lovato) as well as the single “She Takes Me High.”
The band’s third album, “Sunshine State of Mind,” was released in 2011 and featured “Say You Like Me,” which won the MTV Video Music Award for Most Innovative Music Video. The band’s fourth album, “Somewhere Somehow,” was released in late 2013 and included the singles “Just Keep Breathing,” “Find You There,” “Any Other Way” and “Art of War.”
The event is open to the public. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online before the concert by visiting https://payment.onu.edu/C21185_ustores/web/store_main.jsp?STOREID=89 or at the door beginning at 7 p.m. This event features general admission seating, and alcohol is prohibited.
