ReStore wants donations, but please be considerate
ReStore Community Center receives many donations on a daily basis, which the organization appreciates. But the Center has become a dumping ground for some people.
Bags of trash, dirty paper plates, etc. have been received recently.
Even mattresses have been left leaning against the building even though a sign, with large print, clearly states that mattresses are not accepted.
Dana Walters, executive director, asked the Ada Icon to publish this statement:
"Please donate only gently-used, non torn, clean clothing. If you wouldn't wear it, please don't leave it. We have a lot of items we have to throw away which costs us money since we have to pay to have it hauled away.
"We cannot help those in need if we have to spend time sorting through obvious trash and pay a hauler. Helping those in need is what we should be doing with our resources of labor and money."
