Howard Fenton may have had in mind Willliam Shakespeare's "when icicles hang by the wall... when all aloud the wind doth blow." Sophomore Calob Cope (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week for the week of Feb. 15-21.
Cope won three distance races in meets at Mount Union and John Carroll this weekend.
On Friday, he won the 500 free in 4:57.51 and was second in the 400 I.M. in 4:20.69 at Mount Union.
Cope swept the 1650 free (17:04.26) and the 500 free (4:57.32) at John Carroll on Saturday.
The Polar Bears will wrap up their abbreviated 2021 season March 25-27 with the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
