Ohio Northern University Healthwise Outreach Program to assist with health fair
The Ohio Northern University Healthwise Outreach Program, in conjunction with the Hardin County YMCA, will conduct a health fair at the Kenton YMCA facility on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public. Utilizing the ONU mobile rural preventive health service vehicle, ONU pharmacy students and staff will be on hand to provide glucose, blood pressure and cholesterol screenings.
Amy Fanous, director of the ONU Healthwise mobile rural preventive health service vehicle, will be there to provide health-related information and referrals and to arrange follow-up care as needed.
Fanous said, “The mobile clinic service is important because community-needs assessments have shown that Hardin County has several gaps in health care, and ONU can help to close those gaps. Because ONU is committed to assisting the community, we want to serve as a resource to assist residents who might not otherwise receive the medical attention and education they need. The mobile clinic is an opportunity to positively contribute to the community as well as provide our students with valuable learning experiences.”
