Ohio Northern University will put active learning and community involvement into practice with the annual Ada Community Engagement (ACE) Day event from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 18. The program is designed to engage incoming students with their college home and provide opportunities for ONU’s first-year students to contribute to the village and surrounding communities.

 

The next meeting of the Ada School board will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 16, in the board room at the school.

Betty A. Dumond, age 67, died on Monday, August13, 2018 at 12:41 p.m. at the St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.

          She was born on December 13, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio to Phineas M. and Janice Maxine (Piles) Dumond. 

          Betty was a homemaker.  She was a member of County Line Church of the Brethren, Harrod.

          She is survived by her brother:  Ronald W. (Patricia A.) Nelson of Ada and her sister: Suzan Eisel of Bradenton, FL and also several nieces and nephews.

ARLINGTON - Ada lost a dual golf match at non-league foe Arlington Monday evening at Sycamore Springs Golf Course.

 

The Red Devils beat Ada, 187-235.

Ralph "Teed" F. Neiswander, age 95, died on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at 11:00 p.m. at Birchaven Village, Findlay, Ohio.

He was born April 11, 1923 in Ada, Ohio to the late Dr. Leo C., MD and Lutie (Freed) Neiswander,
On March 11, 1945 he married Lucille "Soni" Creps and she died April 19, 2009.
