Joint funeral service for James and Donna Klingler
NOTE: James Klingler died on Dec. 8. His wife, Donna, died on Dec. 7. Click here for her obituary. Joint visitation is Wednesday, Dec. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m.
James Howe Klingler, 86, died Dec. 8, 2015, at his residence. James was born May 18, 1929, in Hancock County, Ohio to the late John Henry and Marie (Pratt) Klingler. On March 11, 1951, he married Donna June Gossard who preceded him in death Dec. 7, 2015.
James was a member of Bethel Church of Christ. He was a veteran serving in the Navy from 1946-1950, aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Valley Forge. He also worked at ONU in the janitorial department and McCurdy's Wagon and Steel in Ada, Fruehauf in Delphos and UAP (now Triplett) in Forest, Ohio.
James is also survived by a son John Everett (Judy) Klingler of Lima; three grandchildren, Heather (Robert) Stoodt of Elida, Catherine (Ryan) Briggs of Blythe, Georgia, Joshua (Tiffany) Klingler of Lima; two great-granddaughters, Elliana Grace Briggs and Parker Elizabeth Klingler; a sister-in-law Pauline Klingler of Bluffton; three brothers-in-law Paul Gossard of Bluffton, Carroll (Edna) Gossard and Kenneth (Barb) Gossard both of Findlay; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Roy Klingler, and three sisters Doris Everett, Hazel M. Auston and Dorothy Bagley.
A joint funeral service with his wife, Donna, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Pastor Brandon Mayden officiating. Burial will in Lafayette Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #185, Ada.
