Ada HS and ONU grad designing sets and costumes for The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London

This month, Ada High School and Ohio Northern University graduate, Jill Davis, is at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.

She is the daughter of Duane and the late Helen Davis of Ada.

She was invited to design the set and costumes for three short farces by Feydeau. Geoff Bullen translated these scripts from French and is now directing the production he has dubbed “Chez Feydeau.”

Here is one of the three renderings of the set Davis created for the production. “There are three projection screens above the set that have images of Paris at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries,” explains Davis.

The production of the set is now almost complete. The show opens Feb. 4. Learn more about the show here: https://www.rada.ac.uk/whats-on/rada-productions

Davis is a professor and resident scenic and lighting designer in the Department of Theater at Case Western Reserve University. Prior to her appointment at CASE, she had more than 12 years of experience in scenic design and scenic painting in professional theater and was the charge scenic artist at the Cleveland Play House, in charge of painting the scenery for over 100 productions.
