ONU's Price lone DIII player on NLFPA Collegiate Bowl roster

Ohio Northern senior All-American receiver/kick returner Devon Price will compete in the fifth-annual NFLPA Collegiate Bowl on Saturday at 6 p.m. in Carson, Calif.

The Collegiate Bowl, made up primarily of players from NCAA Division I schools, will air nationally on ESPN2.

In addition, American and National Team practices on Jan. 20 and 21 will be televised live on ESPNU. The game and practices will also be available via WatchESPN.

Price will play for the National squad, coached by former Saint Louis Rams head coach Mike Martz, and is slated to wear uniform No. 83.

The National team will practice from 12:30-3 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.

Price is the third Polar Bear to compete in an NCAA Division I all-star game televised on ESPN.

In 2006, Wes Hostetler competed in the Hula Bowl as a kick returner/corner back and in 2007 current Minnesota Viking Jason Trusnik played in the inaugural Texas v The Nation Bowl in El Paso, Tex.

Price appears to be the only NCAA Division III player on either roster, which consists of 113 total players.

The senior is ONU's all-time career leader with 244 receptions and 3,201 yards. He also is tops all-time at Ohio Northern with 76 kickoff returns for 1,868 yards and is second with 5,539 all-purpose yards.

Price led the Ohio Athletic Conference this season with 89 receptions for 1,217 yards to go with six touchdowns.

The Polar Bears went 9-3 overall, finished second in the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 7-2 record and advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA Division III Playoffs this season under 12th-year head coach Dean Paul.
