Stratton Minix was retired from Ford Motor Co.

Stratton Minix, 81, died on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at 11:54 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima.  

He was born on Jan. 6, 1934, in Breathitt County, Kentucky, to Bill and Laura (Watkins) Minix and they preceded him in death. He was raised by Leander and Laura Rowe. Stratton married Bonnie L. Burris on Dec. 31, 1982, and she survives in Alger. 

Stratton retired in 1999 after 35 years from Ford Motor Company, Lima as a stock handler. He was a life member of the McGuffey Conservation Club. He was affiliated with the Baptist Church. 

Also surviving are two sons, Leonard (Sandy) Minix of Lima and Terry (Cindy) Minix of Urbana; four daughters, Patti (Dave) Conner of Kenton, Tina Allemang of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Teresa Ovall of Oregon, Ohio, and Tammy (Thomas) Henson of Florida; 23 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug (Sharon) Burris of Harrod, Jerry “Bucky” (Sharon) Burris of Forest, Rick (Tina) Burris of Alger, Harold Cummins of Malta, Karen Kindle of Alger, and Terri Bridenstine of Alger; and numerous nephews and nieces.
     
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Hargis Rowe and Harlow Rowe; and three sisters, Margie Gartside, Betty Mann, and Dorothy Huff.

Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 5, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger, with Pastor Steve Holbrook officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.   
     
Friends may call from 5 to 8p.m. on Monday, Jan. 4, at the Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger and until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hardin County Humane Society.
