Betty Fisher was retired from Ada schools

Betty R. Fisher, 81, died on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at 2:38 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima.

She was born on April 18, 1935, in Hardin County to Eldon and Ruth (Rainsburg) Decker who preceded her in death. On Oct. 10, 1953, she married Warren J. Fisher and he died on Jan. 24, 1992.

Betty retired from Ada Schools where she worked in the school cafeteria. She was a longtime 4-H Advisor and she was a former member of the Liberty Grange. Betty loved to quilt. She loved her family and she loved being a farm wife. She was a member of the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church of Ada.

She is survived by three sons: Warren E. Fisher of Cridersville, Martin L. (Diane) Fisher of Ada and Shawn L. Fisher of Columbus; Jacqueline Stephenson of Ada, Andrea (Jim) Pifer of Ada and Stacia Hall of Ada; 11grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; 1 sister: Patsy (Jack) Fancher of Ada; 1 step-daughter: Rosie Ratcliff of Findlay; 1 step-brother: Greg (Ellie) Long of Newnan, Ga., and 3 step-sisters: Jackie (Richard) Ackerman of LaFayette and Joan Owen of LaFayette and Jan (Glen) Williams of Leesburg, Fla.

Betty was preceded in death by 1 grandson: Lee Michael Pifer.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Pastor Courtnie Morton officiating. Burial will be in Candler Cemetery, Ada.

 

          Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 PM on Friday, April 22, 2016 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.

 

          A Grange Service will be held at 8:00 PM on Friday, April 22, 2016 at Hanson-Neely funeral Home, Ada.

 

          In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, Ada and/or Nationwide Children’s Hospital and/or Putnam County Hospice.
