Norma Jean Fry was retired from Upper Scioto Valley schools
Norma Jean Fry, 84, died on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 3:20 p.m. at Heritage Legacy, Findlay.
She was born on Nov. 13, 1931 in Kenton, Ohio, to Harry and Leona (Bailey) Hogue and they preceded her in death. On April 15, 1949, she married Ray E. Fry and he died on March 28, 1983.
Norma Jean was a homemaker. She retired from Upper Scioto Valley Schools as a custodian and cafeteria worker and teachers aide. She also worked at Richland Manor Nursing Home as a nurse's aide. She enjoyed sewing, crochet, quilting, and cooking for her family. She served for many years on the McGuffey Village Council. She loved to bowl and was on a bowling team for several years.
Surviving are a daughter: Deborah (Rick) Longbrake of Findlay; 3 grandchildren: Ryan (Lynn) Longbrake of Columbus, Jason (Sansanee) Longbrake of Fostoria, and Allison (Mark) Meadows of Grove City; 4 great grandchildren: Kendall Longbrake, Hanna Longbrake, Regan Meadows, and Chace Meado ws; and a sister, Bealuh Nichols of Kenton.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Fry; 5 brothers, and 1 sister.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alge,r with Rev. Steve Longbrake officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger and until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
