Ohio Northern Music Department Wind Orchestra concert Friday
Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents an evening of music featuring the ONU Wind Orchestra on Friday, April 22, at 7:30 p.m. The concert will serve as the opening performance for the 41st Annual ONU Spring Band Festival. Festival guest composer and conductor, Patrick Burns, will conduct his well-known masterwork, “Soundtrack.”
Under the direction of Thomas A. Hunt, the wind orchestra will perform a concert of music for the stage and screen, including arrangements for winds and percussion from the great operas of Verdi, Puccini, Mascagni and Wagner and from the movies “Star Wars,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “James Bond,” “Midway” and “Saving Private Ryan.”
Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, $10 for ONU faculty and staff, and $5 for students. The Freed Center box office is open Monday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Phone orders are accepted with American Express, MasterCard, VISA or Discover by calling 419-772-1900.
