Margaret Corbet was retired from Harrod Elementary cafeteria
Margaret J. Corbet, 94, died on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at 12:58 a.m. at Otterbein-Cridersville in Cridersville, Ohio.
She was born on Dec. 31, 1921, in Utica, Michigan, to George and Ada (Waldron) Wennesheimer who preceded her in death. On Nov. 7, 1942 she married Gordon R. Donnelly and he died on May 14, 1945. She later married Harry F. “Fred” Corbet on Aug. 14, 1947 and he died on January 23, 2002.
Margaret was a homemaker. She retired after working for 20 years from Harrod Elementary School where she had worked since 1968 in the cafeteria. She was a member of the Westminster United Church of Christ and a member of the Women’s Fellowship. Margaret was a member of the Harrod CCL and the Auglaize Township Historical Society. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Margaret loved to travel with her husband.
She is survived by two sons: Gordon (Jane) Donnelly of Kenton and James (Sandra) Corbet of Harrod; three daughters: Mary (Paul “Bud”) Richardson of Harrod, Nancy (Curt) Dilbone of Harrod and Wanda (R. Mark) Wagner of Tuscon, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; two sisters: Shirley Smith and Beatrice Conrath both of California.
She was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Jordan Richardson; two brothers: Kenneth W. and infant brother, George H. Wennesheimer; and four sisters: Pearl Wennesheimer, Violet Siericki, Irene Chapaton and Ella Kowal.
Funeral services will begin at noon on Monday, May 16, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with Pastor Patrick Kamler officiating. Burial will be in Auglaize Cemetery, Harrod.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Westminster United Church of Christ Women’s Fellowship, 6845 Faulkner Road, Harrod, Ohio 45850 and/or St. Rita’s Hospice at 730 W. Market Street, Lima, Ohio 45801 and/or Otterbein-Cridersville Benevolent Fund at 100 Red Oak Drive, Cridersville, Ohio 45806
