Engineering student selected to co-facilitate at sixth Global Entrepreneurship Summit
Ohio Northern University student Alexandra Seda, a senior electrical engineering major from Columbiana, Ala., has been invited to co-facilitate at the White House-sponsored sixth Global Entrepreneurship Summit at Stanford University from June 22-24.
Seda is one of 12 students selected to co-facilitate a four-hour session called “Hack Your Creative Culture” with leaders from Stanford University and Google. The session will be held at the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design, the d.school, at Stanford. It is one of a few partner events co-hosted by the U.S. State Department. More than 600 entrepreneurs from across the United States and each of the world’s six regions will take part in the Summit.
Seda was selected for this opportunity through her work as a University Innovation Fellow (UIF), a program created by the National Center for Engineering Pathways to Innovation (Epicenter). UIF is a competitive program with more than 600 Fellows from more than 140 institutions across the U.S. who strive to become change agents at their respective schools and create lasting institutional change.
In 2015, Seda became the first University Innovation Fellow from Ohio Northern University. In 2016, three additional ONU students went through the UIF program through the support of the Kern Entrepreneurial Engineering Network (KEEN). This support will allow ONU Fellows to continue their work with UIF and participate in events on a national scale.
