Officials were able to issue an immediate media release with the suspect photo as well as an alert to regional police agencies.
About a dozen or so tips were communicated to local police officials. An alert Putnam County dispatcher recognized the Bluffton notice as being similar to an alert from Michigan authorities who were investigating an aggravated robbery in Michigan.
Joint cooperation between Putnam County, Leipsic Police, St. Clair Shores (Michigan), and Bluffton led to a solid suspect being identified.
Bluffton officials presented their case to the grand jury earlier this week. The grand jury indicted Eric J. Auchmuty, 31, of Eastpoint, Mich., for the robbery.
Auchmuty has not been taken into custody as of today. He is wanted in both Michigan and Ohio for armed robbery.
