Turn back the clock - on June 23 40 Model A Fords come to town
On Thursday, June 23, Ada residents might think for a moment that the clock turned back to the 1920s.
That's because Ada will be visited by nearly 40 Model A Fords. These vehicles range in model year from 1928 to 1931.
They will be on exhibit in the Ada depot parking lot and are part of an all-day celebration.
In cooperation with the Buy Ada First and Ada Area Chamber of Commerce, several activities are planned to entertain the visiting Model A drivers. Some of these activities are open to the public.
Specifically, the first Music on Main luncheon and cruise in of the season takes place in the depot park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
During that time the following activities take place:
• Jalapenos Mexican Grill and Padrone’s of Ada will be at the depot with an assortment of lunch items
• The Model A Fords will be on exhibit at the depot parking lot
• Ice cream will be provided by the chamber and supplies by Sodexo
• Free popcorn will be provided by Liberty National Bank
• WONB FM will broadcast music from the depot
• Several Ada businesses will offer discounts during the afternoon
The antique vehicles are from the Penn-Ohio Model A Ford Club who will spend the day in Ada.
Their visit here is part of the club’s 2016 Back Roads Tour taking place from June 19-24.
