ReStore picnic in the park - a great launch for a Fourth weekend
Story and photos by Monty Siekerman
ReStore sponsored a picnic in the park on Friday afternoon with a police car, big red fire truck, and an ambulance on hand for kids to see.
The 4th of July weekend began with perfect weather for the event. It was hotdogs, hamburgers, chips, and salads for the in a War Memorial Park shelter house. In addition, all youngsters were given a toy, their faces lighting up in happiness.

The kids enjoyed seeing the emergency vehicles and meeting some of the personnel: good public relations for the Ada emergency responder crews and educational for the youngsters.
For Ada, the 4th weekend began in a 1950s made-for-movie fashion - the community gathers for hot dogs and hamburgers, parents and grandparents with little ones in tow, whirligigs blowing in the wind, fun on the playground, and of course, the "swimming hole" nearby, which just happens to be the village pool.
