The West Ohio Food Bank invites Ada Icon viewers to assist in a food distribution from noon to 3 p.m., Wednesday, July 15, on the Ohio Northern University campus.
“You can assist with passing out or loading food, with registrations, and to work side by side with Ohio National Guard soldiers as they continue their mission with food banks across Ohio,” said a food bank representative.

The distribution takes place in the Lakeview parking lot near Loop Road and the Freed Center.
The $2.5 million Lincoln Avenue reconstruction project moves west. The east portion of the project, from Union to the Ada Medical and Diagnostic Center, is nearly finished and vehicles may now use it. The project now moves west of the diagnostic center to Klingler Road.
A “Park in the Park” car event takes place from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, in the Ada War Memorial Park.
Kent and Dee Everhart host the event in appreciation to the Ada community for its 25 years of support of Everhart Trucking, which the couple sold earlier this year.
Car owners may register vehicles, open to all years of cars, motorcycles and trucks. Registration continues during the event until 6 p.m.
Trophies and plaques will be awarded at 6 p.m. in 18 different vehicle classes. A donation of $10 per entry is appreciated.
Kent Everhart said that donations will support local veterans.
A stove fire at 515 N. Main St., Ada, was called in to the Ada Police Department at 2:59 p.m. on Monday, July 13, according to the Ada police log.
The log stated that units responding included one unit from LaFayette fire department, Ada police, Ada-Liberty Township EMS and several units from the Ada-Liberty Township fire department.

On Saturday, an Ada Municipal Pool employee tested positive for covid-19, according to Ada village officials.
As a result the pool was closed Sunday and Monday, July 12-13.
Several actions took place in the meantime, allowing the pool to reopen on its regular schedule today (Tuesday, July 14), according to Angela Polachek of the village.
Following the notification to the village, the Kenton Hardin Health Department informed the village on Sunday that no other pool employees needed to be contacted as part of the contact tracing protocol.
