Summer workshop
A summer workshop providing demonstrations on how to plant succulent planters and fairy gardens is set.
Ada council will act on five ordinances tonight (Tuesday, June 16) concerning bond sales.
The action will be considered as emergency ordinances. Each ordinance provides for the issuance and sale of bonds. The bond totals follow:
Ordinance 2020-04
$2.1 million for refunding debt charges, saving the village’s outstanding various-purpose improvement and refunding bonds from October 2013.
Ordinance 2020-05
$640,000 for paying costs of improvements to the municipal swimming pool.
Ordinance 2020-06
$425,000 for paying costs of improvements to the municipal building.
The Ohio Northern University Child Development Center has a couple openings for preschoolers this fall, according to June Zimmerman, director.
The Center, located at 209 S. Union St., Ada, operates full-day and half-day preschool programs.

The full-day program is offered Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. – 5:15 p.m.
The half-day preschool programs 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. The preschool opens on Monday, Aug. 10.

Ada Area Chamber of Commerce announced this morning that it will cancel two summer festivals:
• Made in Ada Football Festival,
originally set for Saturday, Aug. 22
• Harvest and Herb Festival,
originally set for Saturday, Sept. 26
Heather Cox, chamber president said, “The health and safety of the Ada community and businesses is our main priority. After speaking with the Hardin County Health Department, the Chamber Board of Directors has decided to cancel both the Made in Ada Football Festival and the Harvest and Herb Festival this summer.
