Library awarded Guiding Ohio Online/Americorps Grant for 2nd year
The Ada Public Library is pleased to announce that they've been awarded a 2nd Year of the Guiding Ohio Online Americorps grant, which means that the Library's Tech Volunteer, Max Gauthier, will be assisting community members at the Ada Public Library through the summer of 2017!
According to the Guiding Ohio Online website,
"Guiding Ohio Online is an AmeriCorps program that places members in rural Ohio libraries to deliver digital literacy training through computer classes, one-on-one computer assistance, outreach, and volunteer recruitment.Our vision is for every Ohioan to be able to fully participate in online government, search and apply for jobs online, understand the risks and benefits of internet finance, connect with family online, and protect personal information in the digital age."
Gauthier has spent the past year teaching classes including: computer coding (for Teens), Outsmarting smart phones, Computer basics, and more, as well as offering 1-on-1 assistance, and helping maintain the library's computers and software.
