Bulldog sports update

ADA - The host Ada volleyball team avenged last fall's sectional loss by sweeping former league foe Lima Central Catholic Thursday evening.
The 25-19, 25-15, 25-a19 win improved the Lady Bulldog record to 13-6. It was their 10th win in 11 matches as Ada stayed unbeaten (6-0) at home.
Junior standout Melina Woods led Ada with 31 kills, 12 digs and six blocks.
"Kyli Lause came in and did an outstanding job," said Ada head coach Melissa Gossard. "She picked up some nice tips, had a couple nice sets and had some big blocks.
"Alyssa Vore did a great job. Olivia Alexander and Melina did a great job in the back row," she added.
Vore contributed 10 kills and four digs. Maddie Gossard passed out 28 assists, came up with five digs, served four aces and made one block.
Sidney Gossard doled out 10 assists. Olivia Alexander came up witha dozen digs. Kait Newland hustled up five digs. Lause had two blocks and two digs, while Nikki Lensten added a pair of kills.
"This was a win we needed going into our last three matches, and for seeding in sectionals," said Gossard.
Ada (5-0 NWC) plays at league foe Bluffton October 4.
Ada boys nipped late
ADA - The Ada boys soccer teamlost 1-0 at home to Riverdale Thursday evening.
The Falcons scored in the final five minutes to post the win.
The close defeat dropped the Ada record to 6-4 overall and 2-2 in NCOSA play.
Ada hosts Cory-Rawson Oct. 6.
Bulldog linksters play at sectionals
ARLINGTON - Ada competed in the 15-team boys Div. III golf sectionals at Sycamore Springs Golf Course Thursday morning.
Van Buren captured the boys team title with a score of 316, followed by Carey (353) and McComb (362).
The Bulldog linksters finished 15th with a total of 516 strokes. Allen East (394) came in seventh while USV ended up ninth (417).

66th Alex Morgan 63-65=128
67th Jake Colwell 64-65=129
69th Austin Amburgey 68-67=135
73rd Nathan Hurtig 73-71=144
Hunter Foltz of Van Buren won the sectional title with a 35-39=74 score over 18 holes.
The top three teams and top three individuals not on one of the qualifying teams advance to district competition.
