Ada harriers run at Van Wert

VAN WERT - The Ada cross country team competed in the Van Wert County
Hospital Invitational meet at the VW Reservoir Saturday.
The Ada girls came in 13th out of 15 teams, while the Bulldog boys ended
up 20th out of 20 squads. Ada freshman Abbie James finished a strong 15th
out of 169 female runners to lead the Bulldog girls with a time of 21:37.
Columbus Grove captured first in the girls team competition with 34
points. Shawnee came in second with 70 points while Coldwater was third
(127). The Lady Bulldogs scored 314 points to finish ahead of Parkway
(374) and Paulding (392).
Wauseon won the boys meet with 56 points, followed by Lincolnview (78) and
Parkway (85). Ada scored 596 points.
Senior Eric Armbrecht posted the best Bulldog boys finish at 105th in a
time of 19:58. A total of 228 boys ran in the male race.
"Seniors Jil Wolber, Mara Guyton and Seth Evans all set personal records
for their cross country careers," said coach Josh Klein. "Also setting
PR's were Brice Ferguson, Alexis Ennis and Dani
Waugh.
"Senior Keaton Kipker set a season personal record, but is still trying to
shave off time to beat his career PR," Klein added.
Junior Brendan Siefker of Ottoville took first in the boys race with a
time of 16:06. Junior Ashley Bowen of Crestview won the girls race with a
time of 19:44.
"The cross country team has a busy two weeks coming up with four meets,"
said Klein. "We will be training hard these next few weeks as we prepare
for our county and conference meets."
