Line up at 5:30 p.m. at the school • Parade at 6 p.m.

Remember those great Vancrest parade from last year? Well, they are back.

Vancrest of Ada invites area residents to be part of a Vancrest parade that kicks off summer, this evening (Wednesday, June 23).

Here’s the details:
• Line up at Ada school at 5:30 p.m.
• Parade starts at 6 p.m.

The Face book announcement reads: “We especially love to see all the cars, trucks, tractors and golf carts all decorated up! Let’s see how big of a parade we can get to kick off summertime!”

There will be no Liberty Township trustees meeting on July 5. The next meeting will be on Monday, July 19, at 7 p.m., according to Patty Griffin, fiscal officer.

Many myths about COVID-19 infections, as well as COVID-19 vaccines can be found on social media. It is very hard to debunk myths on social media once they get started and unfortunately, there are many myths about the COVID-19 vaccine.

Yes, this is not really new since we have been talking about these myths for over a year. However, you still hear reasons for not getting the vaccine on a daily basis that are truly myths.

It would be nice if the completion of scientific studies debunking these myths got the same attention on social media. How often do we talk about the science?

FROM BLUFFTON ICON - A little more than a week ago, Ashland University senior Trevor Bassitt couldn't go in any preliminary of the 2021 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships due to injury.
 
Bassitt rallied enough physically to help the Eagle men tie for fourth place nationally as a team, and anchor the winning 4x400-meter relay at Grand Valley State prior to Memorial Day.
 

St. Mark Lutheran and Sugar Grove United Methodist hosts "eat-in" or "carry-out"

St. Mark Lutheran Church and Sugar Grove United Methodist Church will hold its "Free Community Meal" from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 30. The meal will be served at St. Mark, 125 S. Johnson St., Ada.

This month the meal will include an option to "eat in" or to "carry out." It is free to the community.  The menu includes brats, saueerfraut, beans, chips, fresh fruit and a cookie. 

Current safety protocols will be observed. In May 60 meals were served.
