Lowell Willeke was clerk of Washington Township for 16 years
Lowell E. Willeke, 79, died on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016 at 2 p.m. at his residence in Dola, Ohio.
He was born on Feb., 1937 in Kenton, Ohio, to Gale and Mildred (Marling) Willeke who preceded him in death. On Feb. 2, 1958 Lowell married Shirley A. Boecher and she died on Sept. 7, 2002.
Lowell previously worked for BancOhio and served as the clerk of Washington Township for 16 years, where he lived and also farmed. Later he was the treasurer for Hardin Northern Schools and the Hardin County ESC. He was a life member of the St. John's Lutheran Church of Dola. Lowell was a member of the International Harvester Tractor Club Chapter 6.
He is survived by a son, Timothy (Susan) Willeke of Westerville; two daughters: Debra (Robert) Bollinger of Plain City and Connie Willeke of Perrysburg; and three grandchildren: Adam, Amy and Scott Bollinger.
Lowell was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Willeke and a brother, Gene Willeke.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Rev. Steven Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in Dola Cemetery, Dola.
Friends may call from 2-4and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. John's Lutheran Church of Dola.
