Ada swimmers open season at Napoleon

NAPOLEON - The Ada swim team competed in its opening meet at the Napoleon Wildcat Invitational Saturday.
The Bulldog boys finished a solid fifth amid a 15-team field. The Ada girls came in 12th out of 16 teams.
The Bulldog boys 200 medley relay quartet finished first. Senior Andrew Ross also won the 100 backstroke event to highlight the Bulldog male efforts.
Senior Andrew Robey finished third in the 50 freestyle. Junior Zach Beaschler ended up third in both the 100 free and 100 breaststroke races.
"This was a strong way for us to open the season," said first-year head coach Tanner Holke. "We're trying people out in events that they don't necessarily swim very often, but in most cases I've been pleasantly surprised at the results.
"Our team has shown signs of improvement already, and we look to
continue that throughout the season."
The Bulldogs swim December 17 at the Fremont Invitational.
