Dale Badertscher, Ada HS grad, held a state FFA degree
Dale L. Badertscher, 66, died on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, at UPMC Montefiore in Pittsburgh, Pa.
He was born on Jan. 24, 1950 in Bluffton, Ohio, to Harold A. and Margie M. (Morehead) Badertscher who preceded him in death. On Sept. 20, 1975, Dale married Sharon R. Foust and she survives in Ada.
Dale was a farmer and previously a sales rep for Pioneer Seeds. He was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ, Ada. He was a U.S. Marine veteran who served during the Vietnam Era. He was a "Jack of all trades" and was able to fix anything. He was a 1968 graduate of Ada High School. Dale achieved his state FFA degree and was an Ada FFA honorary chapter degree recipient. He served on the Board of Directors of the Ada Farmers Exchange. He was a member of the Ada Woodworkers. He loved to camp. His greatest love was playing with his grandchildren.
Also surviving are two daughters: Kimberly Badertscher of Ada and Michelle (Eric) Stinehelfer of Fostoria; three grandchildren: Mallory, Caleb and Abby; and five brothers: Don (Myrna) Badertscher of Ada, Frank (Pat) Badertscher of Ada, Ken (Sue) Badertscher of Pickerington, Dennis (Laurie) Badertscher of Bluffton and Jerry (Jennifer) Badertscher of Ada.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Badertscher.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Pastor Thomas A. Gossell officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada with graveside military honors conducted by the Ada VFW Post #9381 Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Due to family allergies, the family discourages flowers and wishes memorial contributions be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and/or the charity of the donor's choice. The family encourages people to consider organ donation.
