McComb superintendent accepts Ada position
Meri Skilliter, McComb school superintendent, will be the new superintendent of Ada Exempted Village Schools replacing Dr. Suzanne Darmer.
On Dec. 21 she was offered a three-year contract at Ada starting Jan. 1, 2017, at $98,000 per year.
Darmer was Ada’s superintendent for the past 10 years and is retiring at the end of the year.
Skilliter, McComb’s superintendent since August 2013, is a resident of Bluffton and a previous teacher in the Bluffton school system.
Skilliter announced her departure from McComb School District through her blog on the school website.
In it she wrote:
“It is with truly mixed emotions that I announce my departure from the McComb School District as your Superintendent at the end of the calendar year. I have deeply loved my time here, with all of the challenges and triumphs it offered. I am a firm believer in God’s perfect timing, and feel he is calling me to this next chapter with the Ada Exempted Village Schools.
