New heated tobacco devices are not a safe alternative to smoking traditional cigarettes or using electronic cigarettes, according to a new study.
This study directly compared the lung cell damage caused by e-cigarette and cigarette use to this new type of device, which heats solid tobacco to create a nicotine vapor that the user inhales. The conclusion? The heated tobacco vapor from these new devices was highly toxic to healthy lung cells — just like cigarette smoke.

COLDWATER - Top seed St. Henry pulled away from upset-minded Ada with big first and fourth quarters to post a hard-fought 64-47 win in boys Div. IV sectional championship action Friday night at Coldwater.
With the loss, the 11th-seeded Bulldogs finished their season 6-18. MAC champion St. Henry (20-3) advanced to the district semifinals at Wapakoneta with the win.
SH outscored Ada by a combined total of 41-20 in the first and fourth periods. But the Bulldogs won the middle quarters, 27-23.
Zach Niekamp, a 6-1 senior, scored 23 of his game-high 27 points in the second half to lead the Redskins to victory.

Ohio Northern senior Jenna Dirksen (Beavercreek/Carroll) has been awarded All-Ohio Athletic Conference First-Team accolades in women's basketball for the 2018-19 season, the league office announced Wednesday morning.
This season, Dirksen led the Polar Bears and ranked fifth in the OAC with 14.2 points per game. She also paced the Orange and Black with 132 made field goals, 85 made free throws, 66 assists, and 35 steals in a team-high 857 minutes during the campaign.
