Carol A. Newland, age 67, died on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 3:50 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health System. 

She was born on February 5, 1949 in Knott County, Kentucky to Robert and Gladys (Smith) Mosley who preceded her in death. On December 29, 1967 Carol married Russell E. Newland and he survives in Harrod. 

Carol was a homemaker. She was a member of the Alger Assembly of God Church and a life member of the Ada VFW Post #9381 Ladies Auxiliary. 

Also surviving are two sons: Jeffrey R. Newland of Harrod and Eric J. (Kylee) Newland of West Minster; a daughter, Angela Nicole (Robert) Woodruff of Wapakoneta; five grandchildren: Brayden, Jeven, Victoria, Garett and Reyna; a brother, Hager Mosley of Ada; and a sister, Minnie (Darrell) Carty of Wapakoneta. 

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Simon "Bud" Mosley and Jack Mosley; and three sisters: Pauline Mosely, Irene Pinks and Wanda Holbrook. 

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Alger Assembly of God Church at 7050 State Route 235, Alger, Ohio 45812 with Pastor Mark Andreasen officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger. 

Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
