Donald Wright was retired from Nash-Finch
Donald E. Wright, 69, died on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017, at 2:58 p.m. at Hardin Memorial Hospital ER, Kenton.
He was born on July 27, 1947, in Burlington, Mich., to Herman and Irene (Holbrook) Wright, who preceded him in death.
On May 22, 1971, Donald married Mary T. Tighe and she preceded him in death on Jan. 21, 2011.
Donald served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1966-1967.
He retired from Nash-Finch Company as a Receiving Supervisor after 15 years.
He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Ada; a 1965 graduate of Hardin Northern High School; a life member of the Ada VFW Post #9381; a life member of the Fraternal Order of Aerie #2163 of Kenton.
In his retirement Donald enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities and spending time with his friends in town and at the VFW.
Surviving are his daughters:
Jennifer (Brian) Tyson of Centerville, Ohio and Becky (Greg) Mohr of Bluffton, Ohio; 5 grandchildren: Patrick, Kiel, Summer, Makenna and Kelsey. Also surviving is his beloved dog, Sophie.
He was one of 13 children and 6 siblings survive.
Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with Father David Young officiating.
Burial will be in Dunkirk Cemetery, Dunkirk.
A graveside military service will be conducted by Ada VFW Post# 9381 Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, and until the time of the service at the funeral home on Thursday.
