From ONU Facebook - Ohio Northern University students gathered on campus today to celebrate TAG Day,  a day celebration that students come together to thank ONU alumni and friends who give back.

Students learned about this year's Founder in addition to playing themed games, sharing why they love ONU, enjoying food and of course getting out of the tundra's snow.

Thursday birthday party planned at Vancrest

Emma Spradlin, a life-long resident of McGuffey, will celebrate her 102nd birthday on Thursday, Feb. 27, at Vancrest of Ada, with her family and friends. She lived in McGuffey since she was 7. She is mother to nine children.

One of her daughters, Dorothy Puckett of Kenton, provided the Icon with a poem that summarizes her life:

Myra McCurdy was among many Ada residents observing Ash Wednesday. The First United Methodist Chruch held a blessing and distribution of ashes in an "ashes to go" observance. Ash Wednesday signifies the beginning of the season of Lent.
