If an Ada school student in your household is dressing in unusual ways this week, there’s a reason.
It’s Red Ribbon Week, from now through Friday.
This purpose of the week is to bring awareness to the topics of drugs, alcohol and bullying. Each day is a different dress up theme.
For example, Tuesday’s theme was My Dreams, My Future, My Choice, Drug and Bully Free! – Students were encouraged to wear a college shirt, career clothing or uniform.
Wednesday: We have Better Things to do than Drugs or Bullying! –
Wear a favorite sport, activity or hobby shirt.

Junior All-American Christiaan Williams (Sidney/Anna) had a record-setting afternoon, but Ohio Northern fell 44-10 at No. 13-ranked John Carroll on Saturday afternoon at Don Shula Stadium.
Williams ran 25 times for 127 yards for the Polar Bears (3-3 overall, 3-2 Ohio Athletic Conference).
Williams' 127-yard effort breaks the school record for 100-yard rushing games, giving Williams his 21st such game in just his 25th career contest. He breaks the previous record of 20, set by All-American and NFL standout Jamal Robertson from 1997-2000.
The ONU Healthwise Mobile Clinic will be at the Ada Public Library from 1 to 3 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 23.
Services are offered at no cost to the patient and include immunizations, tobacco cessation, medication reconciliation, health education, and a variety of health screenings.
The ONU College of Pharmacy operates the clinic. Members of the organization visit Ada and most other communities in Hardin County several times a year, thanks to its partners, CVS and Mercy Health.
An ONU student does some class preparation in the new engineering building on campus, which opened this fall. This second floor location provides an interesting view of campus.
