ONU soccer player named First Team All-American
ONU Senior Matt Kinkopf has been named a First Team All-American by D3Soccer.com for the 2016 season.
Kinkopf also garnered First Team All-America honors by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
The senior had a historic season as he led the Polar Bears to their ninth NCAA III Tournament birth in 2016.
Kinkopf is also 4-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree and a two-time All-Great Lakes Region honoree.
Kinkopf led the team and conference with 16 goals, 17 assists and 49 points this season.
His 17 assists are the second best single season mark in ONU history, while his 16 goals are tied for sixth best in a single season at ONU and his 49 points rank fourth all-time at Northern in a single season.
Kinkopf ended his career as the all-time goals leader at Ohio Northern with 57 career goals, ranks tied for second all-time with 33 assists, and ranks second all-time at ONU with 147 career points
