Richards named Athlete of the Week
Junior Emily Richards(Delaware/Hayes) earned her third consecutive Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 29-Feb. 4.
Richards helped the Polar Bears (30-6 overall) to a first place finish at the annual ONU Joe Banks Invitational on Saturdayafternoon.
The junior posted another record-setting day, as she broke her own 800-meter run school record for the second consecutive week and ran the sixth fastest time in Div. III history in the event.
Richards finished second overall in the event in 2:08.83 behind 2016 Div. II 800-meter run National Champion Carsyn Koch in what proved to be an exciting finish.
Richards owns the fastest time in the event nationally by more than four seconds.
The Polar Bears return to the track Saturday as they travel to Westerville to compete in the All-Ohio Championships.
