FROM BLUFFTON ICON - Note, Bluffton Icon receives its weather reports from a weather observer in Pandora. Due to that distance from Ada, we seldom post Pandora weather stats on Ada Icon. However, with three record temps already broken, this weather story should be of interest to Ada viewers.
February 2017 is headed toward the weather record books.
There’s eight days remaining in the month, and according to Guy Verhoff, Pandora weather observer, three new record high temperatures are already set.
The new records follow:
Feb. 17 - now 63 was 59 degrees in 2011
Feb. 18 - now 69 was 60 degrees in 1981
Feb. 19 - now 65 was 64 degrees in 1994
Several additional weather-related facts for the first 20 days of February include only a trace of rain was recorded (Feb. 1 and Feb. 15).
Snowfall was recorded only one day, with 2.9 inches on Feb. 8. Trace of snow was recorded on Feb. 1 and Feb. 15.
Only five February low degrees were in the teens. The daily weather summary for the first 20 days of the month is attached.
