Women's track prepares for all-Ohio meet
Saturday's Preview: The Ohio Northern women's indoor track and field team will look to continue its early success as it is set to compete at the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Otterbein in Westerville ... The meet is comprised of Div. III schools from across Ohio ... Field events and track events are set to begin at 12 p.m. ... The Polar Bears are coming off of a first place finish at the annual Joe Banks Invitational last Saturday ... Northern posted seven first place finishes during the meet ... Junior Emily Richards led the Polar Bears in the meet as she set a new school record and ran the sixth fastest time in Div. III history in the 800-meter dash and finished second overall in 2:08.83 behind 2016 Div. II 800-meter run National Champion Carsyn Koch ... In the high jump sophomore Mallory Weininger won the event with a career-best leap of 5' 1.75" ... Sophomore Maddy Reed won the pole vault with a new career-best height of 12" 4.50" ... In the 60-meter hurdles, senior Allie Gast finished first in :9.38 ... Senior Kelsey Commager also finished first as she won the long jump with a leap of 18' 0.50" ... The senior won the triple jump with a leap of 37' 1.75" ... Senior Michelle Mosler finished first in the 500-meter run in 1:21.23 ... ONU finished fourth last year at the All-Ohio meet.
Head Coach Jason Maus: Maus is in his 8th season at ONU with a 307-105-1 indoor record, a winning percentage of .745.
