Dorothy Zimmerly 1934 - 2017
Dorothy L. Zimmerly, age 83, died peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 12:27pm at her residence.
She was born on February 8, 1934 in Dola, Ohio to Clarence H. and Marie L. (Dirmeyer) Jump.
Her father preceded her in death in 1940 and her mother preceded her in death in January of 1999.
On September 20, 1953 Dorothy married Donavin "Don" Zimmerly and he died on March 11, 2014.
Dorothy was the secretary for Van's Real Estate and Insurance.
She received her Realtor's license in 1972.
Dorothy then worked for Century 21 Sunway Realty until her retirement in 1999.
She was a member of the County Line Church of the Brethren, Harrod and the Deacon Body.
She was active with the food and clothing pantries and other offices at the church.
Dorothy was a member of the Ada Mothers Study Club and Ada Aglow Ministry.
She was a 4-H advisor for 20 years.
Dorothy was a 1952 graduate of Ada High School.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth (Amy) Zimmerly of Ada; three daughters: Vicki Lombardo of Coldwater, MI, Sherri (Joe) Scott of Coldwater, MI, and Kathi (Rory) Sexton of Lima; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren;and a sister, Clarice Henry of Ada.
She was preceded in death by a son, Daryl A. Zimmerly; a grandson; a brother, Robert Jump; and her step father, Earl Moe.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00am on Thursday, March 30, at County Line Church of the Brethren, 4227 North Hardin Road, Harrod, Ohio 45850 with Pastor Thomas Dearth officiating.
Burial will be in Dola Cemetery, Dola.
Friends may call from 4:00-7:00pm on Wednesday, March 29, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to County Line Church of the Brethren, 4227 North Hardin Road, Harrod, Ohio 45850
