One...two...pick up sticks
By Monty Siekerman
March came in like a lion with a straight line wind gusts in Ada of about 60 mph at 3 a.m. on March 1. Hopefully, the month will go out like a lamb..as the old weather saying goes.
Why lions and lambs?
The lion, king of beasts, and gentle lambs are contrasts...much like March weather with fierce gales, gentle breezes, pelting rains, to soft mists...a time of transition from winter to spring....welcome to Ohio.
Pictured: Village employees gathering sticks from roadways Wednesday morning. Ada dodge a bullet with no serious problems from the strong winds. Several neighboring towns had some power outages.
The serious 2005 ice storm tore down many weak and healthy trees in Ada, thus storms nowadays cause less havoc since so much growth was culled then.
