ONU's Emily Richards Women's All-Great Lakes Region Track Athlete of the Year
ONU's Emily Richards has been named the Women's All-Great Lakes Region Track Athlete of the Year. For the second consecutive season, Richards earned the honor.
Richards set the Ohio Northern school records in the 800-meter run, 1-mile run and the 1,000-meter run in 2017.
She is also a part of the 4x400-meter dash record breaking team.
The junior, from Delaware Hayes HS, owns the sixth fastest time in Division III history in the 800-meter run and also owns the sixth fastest time in Division III history in the 1-mile run.
Richards will compete in both events at the NCAA Division III Indoor National Track and Field Championships this weekend at North Central (Ill.) College in Naperville, Ill.
The junior will compete in the 800-meter run prelims on March 10 at 3:05 p.m. CST with the top-8 competitors reaching the finals on March 11, and will run the prelims for the 1-mile run on March 10 at 1 p.m. CST.
