Six earn regional honors in men's indoor track and field
Six athletes on the Ohio Northern men's indoor track and field team have earned All-Great Lakes Region honors for the 2017 season.
Seniors Lucas Shumate(Wapakoneta/Spencerville) and Andrew Harden (Dayton/Vandalia-Butler), juniors Matt Molinaro (Sterling Heights, Mich./DeLaSalle) and Alec Lunney(Middleburg Heights/Berea-Midpark) and sophomores Ian McVey (Stow/Munroe Falls) and Corey Briggs (Lima/Bath) were all named All-Region.
Shumate earned his second consecutive All-Region honor in the weight throw for the Polar Bears.
The senior will be competing at the NCAA Div. III National Championships on Friday, Mar. 10 at 3:30 pm CST.
Harden, Briggs, Lunney and Molinaro were each named All-Great Lakes Region in the distance medley relay.
The team claimed the Ohio Athletic Conference title in the event in 2017.
Molinaro was also named All-Great Lakes Region in the 800-meter run and the 1-mile run.
The junior will be competing at the NCAA Div. III National Championships on Friday, Mar. 10 at 3:20 pm CST with the top-8 advancing to Saturday's finals
