Terry Lee Dyer, 02/15/1947 - 03/08/2017
Terry L. Dyer, age 70, died on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at 1:25pm at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima, Ohio.
He was born on February 15, 1947 in Lima, Ohio to Edwin A. and Edith M. (Furnish) Dyer, who preceded him in death.
On March 29, 1968, Terry married Sandra G. Campbell and she survives in Alger, Ohio.
Terry retired after 25 years as a N.C. lathe operator for Teledyne Ohio Steel, Lima, Ohio.
Terry was a 1966 graduate of Upper Scioto Valley High School.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1967.
He was a member of the McGuffey Conservation Club, a former member of the Upper Scioto Valley Lions Club.
He visited the Roundhead VFW Post #8832 and the Ada VFW Post #9381.
Terry was a student of history and genealogy tracing his family back to the 1800's. He loved using his metal detector to hunt for historic artifacts. He was also an avid outdoorsman, enjoying bass fishing and hunting.
He is survived by: a son: Nicholaus Dyer of Alger; a daughter: Lucinda M. (Josh) Ulrey of Ada; two brothers: Mike E. (Lori) Dyer of Alger and Larry E. (Patty) Dyer of Waynesfield; three grandchildren: Logan Sturgill, Victoria Sturgill and Nora Dyer.
He was preceded in death by: a daughter: Lana Dyer; a brother: David Dyer and a sister: Stella Jane Gross.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00am on Saturday, March 11, at First Baptist Church, 350 West North Ave., Ada, OH, 45810, with Pastor Jack Duffy officiating.
Following the service it was his wish to be cremated.
Friends may call 2 hours prior to the service from 9:00-11:00 am on Saturday, March 11, at the First Baptist Church of Ada.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to McGuffey Conservation Club and/or the Hardin County Humane Society
