Molinaro fastest in Division III
LONG BEACH, Cal. — Junior Matt Molinaro(Sterling Heights, Mich./DeLaSalle) posted a strong race in the 800-meter run on Saturday afternoon as he competed in the Beach Invitational in Long Beach, Cal.
The junior finished third overall in the event in 1:48.92 and ran the fastest time nationally among Div. III athletes.
Molinaro posted a new personal best in the event and narrowly missed breaking a 9-year old school record.
"That was an incredible race for Matt," said head coach Jason Maus. "For him to be able to double back and run this fast of a time after his race yesterday just shows where he is at. He added to his national mark and widened his lead in the event which is always great. The race got out really quick and Matt just hung with them and ran very well. This has been a very solid week for Ohio Northern track and field."
