Five Polar Bears named All-OAC in Men's Lacrosse for 2017

ADA — Five Ohio Northern players were named All-Ohio Athletic Conference in men's lacrosse for 2017 in voting conducted by the league's nine head coaches.
Sophomores Anthony Pavone (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) and Andrew Fox (Solon) and freshman Cameron Marous (Brecksville) were named Second Team All-Conference.
Sophomore Jackson Pfister (Upper Arlington) and freshman Logan Krogman (Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) were Honorable Mention All-OAC honorees.
Marous was also named the OAC Freshman of the Year.
Pavone is now a two-time Second Team All-OAC honoree as an attacker.
He led the team and was third in the OAC with 27 assists. He was also second on the team with 18 goals and 45 points.
In 29 career games, Pavone ranks second all-time at ONU with 46 goals and 77 points and is third with 31 assists.
Fox is also a two-time Second Team All-OAC honoree and was named the OAC Freshman of the Year in 2016 as a defensman.
He led the team and was second in the OAC with 35 caused turnovers this season. Fox was fourth on the squad with 33 ground balls.
In 31 career games, Fox is second all-time at ONU with 75 ground balls and has has caused a school record 71 turnovers.
Marous was second on the team and 10th in the OAC with an ONU freshman record 36 goals, was second on the team and fourth in the OAC with 24 assists and led the team and was fifth in the OAC with 60 points in his rookie campaign as an attacker.
His shots on goal percentage of 67.5 percent also led the team in 2017.
Pfister was second on the team with 40 ground balls while starting all 16 games on defense.
He has a school record 79 ground balls and is second all-time at ONU with 34 caused turnovers in 31 career games with 30 starts.
Krogman led the team and was 10th in the OAC with a school record 68 ground balls this season.
He also scored four goals and had seven points on the year.
The Polar Bears posted their second consecutive winning season in 2017, going 9-7 overall.
ONU also finished fifth in the 9-team OAC with a 4-4 record under second-year head coach Nat St. Laurent.
