Ohio Northern knocked off Ohio State 3-1 in the semifinals of the Ohio National Collegiate Esports tournament on Thursday night.

The Polar Bears won the first game of the best-of-5 series, only to see the Buckeyes win game two to tie it at 1-1.

Northern won the third game in overtime to go up 2-1 and held off a furious OSU rally in game four to win the final game 1-0, taking the match.

The Polar Bears will play in the finals next week in a day and time to be determined.

In cooperation with Ada schools, the Ada Icon will post each of the Ada High School class of 2020 seniors in the spotlight. Nora Dellifield is today's senior in the spotlight.

Ada-made Wilson NFL footballs can handle just about any abuse, even some playful moments from Kris the cheetah and its friend Remus the dog. The Icon watched a video from the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden featuring the two friends, and realized a couple Ada-made products were also featured. To watch the video click here. The Ohio Northern League of Legends esports team had its 2020 spring season come to an end on Wednesday night with a 2-1 loss to Cleveland State in the semifinals of the Ohio section of the National Collegiate esports tournament.

The Polar Bears won the first game in convincing fashion, but fell to the Vikings in tight second and third games and end their NEC season with a 3-5 record.

Ohio Northern, coached by Troy Chiefari, continued play in the NEC Overwatch tournament Wednesday night with a semifinal game against Ohio State.
