A: Yes; Ohio House Bill 197 permits governmental bodies access to Zoom

Ada's April 7 council meeting via Zoom, with no members sitting together in the same room, poses the question, "Is this a legal, open meeting?"

The answer is "Yes." The answer comes from the the Ohio attorney general's office, which has issued guidance regarding this issue.

On March 13, 2020, Attorney General Dave Yost issued a letter of guidance in regards to the issue.

Results from a new Baldwin Wallace University Great Lakes Poll offer a snapshot of public opinion in four key Midwest states caught in the midst of the fear and uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Spearheaded by BW’s Community Research Institute (CRI), in partnership with Oakland University and Ohio Northern University, the poll questioned self-identified registered voters in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin on a variety of topics including COVID-19 (coronavirus) and approval ratings for how the president and state governors are handling the crisis, along with the 2020 election and more.

Ada High School senior class is the winning class of the 2020 Interclass competition. The seniors compiled 1,115 points. Individual winners in the various entry categories follow:

Ada council will meet virtually on April 21 through Zoom or some similar service that is available from our web developer. We will address issues such as how to have an executive session, time for public comment and so forth within the next week so we can test and be ready for the following week's meeting.

Noon, Wednesday, April 15, for alumni and friends

Ohio Northern University will hold a virtual town hall meeting for alumni and friends at noon, Wednesday, April 15, delivered through ONU’s Facebook at: Facebook.com/ohionorthern.

The purpose of the town hall is to offer detailed information on Ohio Northern's response to COVID-19 and to hear what's on the minds of alumni and friends of the university.
