Ada-Liberty Township EMS chief, Tom Miller, provided the Icon with the following guideline update on the COVID-19 virus. His message follows:
As we continue to fight the spread of the COVID-19 Virus, I wanted to touch base with you again.
The original guidelines of what to do if you think you are experiencing symptoms, calling you primary care physician or the Ohio Department of Health hotline numbers as well as the joint number from Lima Memorial and St Rita's Mercy Health Systems are still the procedures to follow.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has urged Ohioans to begin wearing cloth masks while in public, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The CDC issued the recommendation that citizens wear face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain, especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.
"In many cultures around the world, wearing a mask is just part of the culture - it is a socially accepted act of kindness," said Governor DeWine. "Wearing a mask should not scare people. It is a good thing. It is a considerate thing. It is a courageous thing."

We regret to announce that the May 9, 2020, Bluffton Arts & Crafts Festival has been cancelled due to the impact of COVID-19 restrictions.
With social distancing and stay at home measures in effect through April, we are unable to hold this event.
We look forward to hosting the event in 2021 and want to stay in touch with vendors.

The COVID-19 pandemic unceremoniously ended a couple winter sports and cut short the spring sports season. Many senior student-athletes weren't afforded the privilege of completing their careers in the orange and black.
In an effort to remedy the sports void at ONU and honor the athletes that weren't able to finish their respective seasons, here's a synopsis of those teams' seasons.
WRESTLING:
The Ohio Northern wrestling team was set to send three to the NCAA Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
