Tree ceremonies for Kevin Mierzejewski and George Vaubel

Ada Rotary Club recognized two former members with tree planting ceremonies on Friday in the Ada park.

A tree in memory of Kevin Mierzejewski and a tree rededication in memory of George Vaubel took place.

A Norway pine was planted in memory of Kevin, who died Jan. 19, 2018. Rotary members offering comments about Kevin said that he had a love for people and a great sense of humor. He launched the club’s bowling fundraiser, now named in his honor.

At Friendship Gardens of Hardin County

Area gardeners and others with an interest in gardening are invited to attend the summer gardening programs being offered at the Friendship Gardens of Hardin County.  

This summer the Hardin County OSU Extension Master Gardener Volunteers are sponsoring three educational demonstration programs in the Friendship Gardens located at 960 W. Kohler Street in Kenton, which is behind Harco Industries.  

Follow the ‘Friendship Gardens of Hardin County’ signs to a parking area off of West Kohler Street.  The events are planned to begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday mornings and will last about an hour. 

Lima Symphony patriotic pops concert here on July 6

The Lima Symphony Orchestra will celebrate Independence Day with its fifth annual Patriotic Pops Concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, at Ohio Northern University.

The concert, which is free and open to the public, will be held on the sculpture mall east of McIntosh Center, between Presser and Weber halls.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early and bring lawn chairs, blankets and favorite picnic foods.

Further details will be shared closer to the event date.
